What do we have available for hire?
Wilding Wood Studios are located in South Chailey, just outside Lewes in East Sussex and comprise of 65 acres of private fields, woodland, small-holding, workshops and farm buildings, pottery studio/green room, a 50m2 green screen studio and swimming pool.
We are currently restoring the woodland and reinstating a 2.5 acre lake to one corner of the field, in line with our re-wilding and conservation project for the whole woodland area.
There is a 3 acre field laid to grass, with a backdrop of deciduous woodland to one side and pine to the other. There are a range of greenhouses, with farm buildings to the other sides.
Our 15 acres of ancient woodland to the front becomes a beautiful bluebell wood in spring. The site has 45 acres of pine plantation which contains a mixture of Corsican Pine, which provides airy, light cover and dappled light with greenery and Hemlock where, in places, there is no growth beneath the trees and a much darker atmosphere. All the trees are over 50 feet tall and planted close together. There are areas of oak and other broad-leaf trees in small clearings, where the colour and light are much brighter.
Wide pathways and chalk roads through the woodland connect the different spaces and offer corridors of light and passage for vehicles and walkers. This is a private woodland with no public right of way. We also have a large clear-fell area, now covered in an array of beautiful grasses, seedlings and brackens. We also have greenhouses and a vegetable small-holding. There is a newly planted fruit orchard and nut woodland.
We have electricity and water on site, with washing and green room/toilet facilities as well as plenty of parking. We are within easy reach of Brighton and London, with plenty of accommodation and amenities nearby.
